Julio Catano (Guest Artist)

Julio began his dance training with San Diego City Ballet and the Academy of Performing Arts as a scholarship student, under the collaboration of Steven Wistrich and Kevin Paterson. In 2006, he was admitted into the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts where he would find his mentor and close friend Cynthia Morales. Upon graduating he attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he would train with the likes of Scott Jovovich, Kim Bears-Bailey, Zane Booker, Molly Misgalla and Andrew Pap. That year he was one of twelve students selected in the University, to perform with Moses Pendleton’s MOMIX during the 2007 L.A. Fashion Week. Upon his early departure he joined Daniel Marshall’s LaDiego Dance Theater, as well as becoming the youngest member of Jean Isaacs San Diego Dance Theater in its 35 year history. During his return he has had the opportunity to perform as a guest artist with California Ballet and San Diego Ballet. He is also a member of Unity Dance Ensemble (San Diego). This is Julio’s first season with LaDiego. Julio thanks his family for their immense support and dedicates his artistic career to Mrs. Cynthia Morales.
