Courtney Denton

Born and raised in Southern California, Courtney began her dance education at the age of five with SDDanceworks. Under the direction and choreography of April Sanders and Joanne Collins, Courtney represented the studio in various local and national competitions, performing both group and solo tap numbers. Seeking a broader foundation in the art of dance, she incorporated classic ballet into her training at the age of thirteen, with the focus of her dance study at San Diego Civic Youth Ballet (SDCYB) with Xavier Hicks, Laura Maravilla and Daniel Marshall. Performance highlights include: “Dew Drop Fairy” in the San Diego Symphony’s “Winter Pops” Concert, “Pas de Quatre” in SDCYB’s 60th Anniversary Gala, and, most recently, a contemporary piece, “Orchids,” performed at ArtWalk with LaDiego Dance Theater. Courtney continues to look for opportunities to infuse her life with dance.
